Bold Stories Across Every Genre

I’m Kiefer Cook, a British author and screenwriter who believes the best stories are the ones that don’t sit quietly in one box.

From dystopian thrillers (The Cure), dark cult dramas (The Apostles), and surreal anthologies (The Lake House), to comedies about failing restaurants (Mains Away) and chaotic driving instructors (Braking Bad), my work spans genres, but it’s always driven by concept, character, and emotional truth.

My writing career began behind the lens—first directing music videos, then creating comedy sketches alongside Neg Dupree (of Channel 4’s Balls of Steel). Together, we generated over 100 million views online. Over time, my passion shifted from camera to keyboard, and I now balance a full-time role as a social media manager with writing film and TV scripts that push boundaries and ask big questions.

One of my screenplays, How To Train The Dead, was optioned after receiving glowing feedback from both BAFTA Rocliffe and the Academy Nicholl Fellowship. That feedback changed everything... and I’ve been writing ever since.

I don’t chase trends. I write what grabs me. Sometimes that means confronting loss through ghostly comedy, other times it means following a grief-stricken pornstar superhero on a mission to save what’s left of London (Pornoman - yes, really).

Whether you’re a reader looking for something unexpected, an agent interested in bold ideas, or a collaborator who values originality, I’m glad you’re here.

“Every story starts with a what-if. I’m just the guy who can’t leave it alone.”
